Story
Dear Parent / Carer
Our annual sponsored walk to raise funds for the P.T.A will take place on Friday 17th September 2021. As you will appreciate, a whole school event of this nature takes a great deal of organisation, consequently the walk will take place unless the weather is so severe that it would be unsafe. Should the weather be extreme the reserve date for this event is Friday 24th September. The walk is approximately 10 kilometres and follows a sign-posted and marshalled route around Crowthorne Wood.
This is the only event in the school year where everybody connected with the school is involved. On the day of the walk pupils are not required to wear school uniform but must wear clothes and footwear suitable for walking and appropriate to the weather conditions. Unfortunately we are not permitted, as part of our Crown Estate license, to allow parents/carers and family dogs to join us on the walk.
In 2019 in excess of £14,000 was raised! In past years the P.T.A has used money raised to finance projects such as the school minibus, library furnishings, specialist equipment, cycle racks, lockers, the dark room, the bike shed and school computers. Whilst pupils have been warned not to approach strangers for sponsorship, it is hoped that all pupils will gain as many sponsors as possible from family and friends. Parents/carers are also encouraged to support their children in securing sponsorship for this event. A copy of the sponsor form is attached for those who want to raise money over the summer. A paper copy will be issued in September.
