Our Oakwood Activity Service offers a wide range of activities to people with learning disabilities and is used not only by our tenants but also be the wider community. Our wide range of activities offer people the opportunity to achieve positive outcomes within an environment which encourages social interaction and integration into the local community.

As part of our facilities a number of our groups currently meet in temporary building in the grounds of Rossendale Hall. Over the years this has become weathered and largely unsuitable and unable to meet the demands of the people who attend. This building is in dire need of a replacement. Our plans will allow for a bigger building allowing more people to attend our services and will include a fully accessible toilet with adult changing facilities and hoist so that we can open up our service to more people.

We also propose to make significant improvements to the grounds and pond area, so that it becomes more accessible to people who use our service. Our plan is to create a bio-diverse and sensory space by planting a varied selection of plants. The area created will stimulate the senses and encourage wildlife to flourish.
