Story
The first team staff and management of Exeter City Football Club are running the Exeter Half Marathon on 11th February 2024 to raise money for the Exeter City Community Fund.
The Exeter City Community Fund is a group of six local charities that the football club has chosen to support this year. They are:
• Exeter City Community Trust: A charity that delivers health, education, wellbeing and physical activity programmes across Devon and Somerset.
• Exeter Community Initiatives: A charity that helps people facing poverty, inequality and homelessness to get their lives back on track.
• Alright Mate? CiC: A social enterprise that aims to improve the mental health of men in Devon through creative projects and workshops.
• Exeter Leukaemia Fund: A charity that supports patients and families affected by blood cancers and blood disorders in the South West.
• Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services: A charity that offers confidential and professional support to survivors of rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse.
• Refugee Support Devon: A charity that provides practical and emotional support to refugees and asylum seekers in Devon.
These are all amazing causes that make a positive difference in our community. To show their appreciation and solidarity they are running 13.1 miles and raising as much money for these charities as they can.
But they can’t do it alone! They need your help to reach the fundraising target of £1,200. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference to the lives of the people these charities support.
Please visit the Just Giving page and donate whatever you can. You can also follow progress and updates on our social media channels. Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can make a difference.
