Story

Donate to DARTCC and Help Us Build EASApp™ -- The Revolutionary Emergency Animal Shelter App.

Sponsorships, grants, and donations directly fuel the work we do. Every contribution you give helps us improve the Emergency Animal Shelter App's features and tools while keeping it free for emergency animal shelter volunteers.

The Tale of Kate & Mischief

Using the mobile friendly features like Daily Care actually saved an animal's life. Let me tell you about Shelter Manager Kate and Mischief the cat.

Male cats are prone to urinary blockage issues when they are nervous. And, like many cats a shelter intakes during disasters, Mischief was a little anxious (understandably so).

Using EASApp™’s Daily Care tool, however, Kate was able to view and track Mischief's care diligently (without scanning messy handwritten notes on paperwork). In Daily Care, volunteers can view and track medications, food servings, fresh water, cage or litter cleaning, and much more.

One day, Kate noticed Mischief had not urinated for over 24 hours and she knew something was wrong.

Knowing Mischief was male, she put two and two together, and got him treated right away. Without urgent veterinarian attention, without clearly seeing and tracking his recent care, Mischief could have died.

Instead, EASApp™’s detailed Daily Care summary allowed Kate to perform her job effectively, saving Mischief’s life and preventing another tragedy for the owners, a family already facing the loss of a home.
