Dunblane Development Trust was established in 2003 as a membership-based community company with charitable status. Since then, we have steadily grown to provide a range of local services and activities based on priorities set by the community.

We rely upon a huge number of hard-working volunteers who run a wide range of projects in Dunblane. We focus on health and well being, environment, community facilities and activities, and local economic development. Our groups include Dunblane in Bloom, the Environment Group, the Paths Group, the Mid-Week DIY group, the E-Bike Group, Dementia Friendly Dunblane, the Town Centre Development Group, and the Fundraising and Events Group.

We are very successful at applying for grants to fund key projects, such as £108,000 towards the Braeport Renewable Energy project (leaving £10k shortfall to manage). However, it has become harder to find funding to cover our fixed central admin, governance and volunteer management costs that are vital in ensuring the Trust can function. As well as sourcing funding via grants we rely upon donations from individuals and businesses to allow us to continue our vital work.

We are hoping to raise £20,000 for our 20th anniversary campaign, which would enable the Trust to expand and thrive in particularly hard post-covid times. This includes continuing to support all our volunteers, and looking at the feasibility of new projects (which currently includes considering options for a Community Shed project, and the possibility of taking on community ownership of the shop currently managed by Mary’s Meals).
