Story
Assalamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah
We pray that you and your loved ones are safe and well.
Darul Ummah literally means The House of the Community. Ever since 1997, Darul Ummah has been the home to many pioneering educational projects, dawah initiatives, youth and recreational activities, and it has been a place of spiritual solace and upliftment for the entire community.
In the face of global coronavirus pandemic, sadly our Masjid had to close its physical door to the public. However, our services continue during this very challenging and unprecedented times. Our Imams are now delivering regular Islamic lectures, classes and guidance through social media channels. Every night of Ramadan, we are continuing to broadcast beautiful recitation of the Glorious Qur'an. Our schools are continuing educate the next generation of Muslims via online platforms. Our community hub is dedicated to providing essential food and support to the most vulnerable.
The closure of the Masjid has also led to an immense pressure on our finances. Alhamdulillah, we have begun works on a £35,000 Project to completely renovate the Sisters' Prayer Facilities. Our Masjid also needs funds to sustain and develop various projects and services for the community.
This is where we need your help more than ever! Allah (swt) reminds us in the Glorious Qur'an:
Those who spend their wealth in Allah's cause are like grains of corn which produce seven ears, each bearing a hundred grains. [2:261]
O you who have believed, spend from that which We have provided for you before there comes a Day in which there is no exchange [2:254]
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S) gives glad tiding to those who give:
If anyone gives as Sadaqa the equivalent of a date from that (earning) earned honestly, for Allah accepts that which is lawful, the Lord would accept it with His Right Hand, and even if it is a date, it would foster in the Hand of the Lord, as one of you fosters his colt, till it becomes bigger than a mountain. [Sahih Muslim]
In this blessed month of Ramadan - where the reward for every good deed is multiplied - we urge you to extend your hands of generosity for the House of Allah. Together. we will meet the needs of our Masjid inshaAllah.
Here's a brief message from our Imam Shaykh Kazi Ashiqur Rahman:
The acts most pleasing to Allah are those which are done continuously, even if they are small. [Sahih Muslim]
