Story
Back in the 1970s one of our founders David Morris asked, Why shouldn't a wheelchair be on top of a mountain?. Every year since then DSUK has used the power of snowsport to bring unique physical and mental health benefits to disabled people, that was until Covid19 changed the world. 2020 was the first year in our history where we have been unable to deliver snowsport lessons. Were determined that it will be the last.
To help us bring some of our activities online, and return to the slopes as soon as possible, we are launching our Race to the Top challenge! Unlike other virtual challenges, we will focus on elevation, and not distance.
You will use a fitness app/smartphone to record your elevation and try to reach your chosen peak. You can choose from Mount Everest, Mont Blanc, and Ben Nevis and enter as an individual or in a team.
Mount Everest (29,032ft)
Mont Blanc (15,771ft)
Ben Nevis (4,406 ft)
We are extremely grateful to all those who take on the challenge and to those who support those doing so!
