Doing The Dry January® Challenge with Alcohol Change UK helps you to break old habits and be happier and healthier year-round! Signing up for the Dry January® Challenge gives you access to a host of free tools including the Try Dry® app, daily coaching emails, a private Facebook community, dedicated web content and inspirational social media throughout January and beyond.
Over the past 12 years, hundreds of thousands of people have taken a month off drinking in January with Alcohol Change UK and raised thousands of pounds to help change lives. Why not join them and sign up to fundraise today. 31 days without alcohol gives amazing, obvious benefits like more energy, a chance to save some money, improved concentration, boosted mood and so much more. It does you good on the inside too. In fact, research shows that a month off alcohol leads to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes risk, as well as lower cancer-related proteins in the blood.
By fundraising for the Dry January® Challenge you will be raising vital funds for Alcohol Change UK, to support our work to reduce the harm caused by alcohol in the UK. Every day 20 people in the UK die as a result of their drinking, and the impact of alcohol doesn't stop there - it affects families, communities, and in fact our whole society.
How your fundraising/donations can help:
* A donation of £20 could support around 20 people reduce their drinking through the Dry January® Challenge.
* £30 could help us develop and deliver more training for front line workers and improve support for dependent drinkers.
* £40 could cover the costs of supporting 16 people for six months to reduce their drinking through our Try Dry® app.
Asking for donations when taking on the Dry January® challenge is a great start to raising money, but there are other activities you can try for your fundraising. You can organise fundraising events like a bake sale or quizzes, sell items on eBay, or even integrate it into a larger challenge. We like the idea of a ‘Dry Tri’ by taking on three activities to inspire donors. Your three activities for the month could be the Dry January® Challenge, 10,000 steps a day and Give What You Save on not drinking alcohol (although you can choose whatever works for you). You could also run The Dry January® 10k!
