The Dr. David Egbo Ugwu’s Family Endowment Fund has been established to honor Dr. Ugwu’s legacy of leadership, community involvement and advocacy for education, within Houston Community College and beyond. Born in the village of Umuatugbuoma in Enugu, Nigeria, Dr. Ugwu was a first-generation college student who persevered to earn four college degrees over the course of his education, including two degrees in engineering, an MBA, and a Ph.D. He loved higher education and was the recipient of several merit-based scholarships that helped make his pursuit of it possible.
Established by the Ugwu family, the fund aims to provide crucial support for students in need as they pursue a quality education at Houston Community College.
Donations of all amounts are welcome and will help promote degree completion as well as to make a difference in the lives of the scholarship recipients.
