Mournes 7-7 Challenge — Stepping Up for the Lisburn Downtown Centre
On Saturday 31st May 2025, 13 incredible supporters will lace up their boots and take on the Mournes 7-7 Challenge — an epic trek across the Mourne Mountains, covering 25.5km of rugged terrain and climbing a staggering 2,494 metres in elevation.
All to raise vital funds for the Lisburn Downtown Centre, a charity at the heart of mental health, learning disability, and community support in Lisburn.
Why We're Doing This
The Lisburn Downtown Centre is a safe haven for individuals facing mental health challenges, living with learning disabilities, or feeling isolated and alone in the community. It’s a place of growth, connection, and belonging — offering everything from drop-in sessions to therapeutic support, advocacy services, and a wide range of community programmes.
“The Downtown Centre helped me rediscover my confidence. It’s more than a service — it’s a family.”
Every pound raised from this challenge goes directly towards continuing and expanding this life-changing work.
Our team of 13 dedicated hikers will summit 7 of the highest Mourne peaks — including Slieve Donard, Slieve Commedagh, and Slieve Binnian — in one gruelling day. This is not a gentle walk; it’s a test of endurance, determination, and heart.
“It’s tough, but so is living with mental health struggles. We’re doing this to show solidarity — and raise money for those who need it most.”
Alongside the 7-7 challenge, we have a team of dedicated supporters taking part in a 6-mile scenic walk around Donard Park, also on Saturday 31st May.
