Doug's two great loves - after God, missions, family, and teaching - were math and music.

Throughout the years, he taught many children and adults to play the guitar. He loved to lead music in choirs, worship services, and sing-alongs at home, church, nursing homes, and with children's groups.

Doug also loved to teach and tutor in math. He put much of his energy into developing tutorials for students and fellow workers. He worked tirelessly on learning software and applications to facilitate learning for others. He was always thinking of others; you could tell by the big smile on his face. He was such a wonderful resource for providing career advice and help, and mentored many whom he worked with over the years.

Doug and his wife, Wren, spoke of establishing scholarships for their students. Doug was in developmental math, and Wren is an instructor with VAST Academy.
