Story
For years, people have flocked from all over to experience a true Scottish Hogmanay in Dornoch. Our historic setting includes the 15th-century Dornoch Castle Hotel, the Dornoch Cathedral built in 1224 and the Carnegie Courthouse, all of which will be illuminated to create a magnificent venue for the midnight celebrations.
Last year, we successfully raised £1356.05 through our JustGiving page, and that sum is part of this year's total. So this year we have raised just over £1050 (at the time of writing on 1/1/2024) Our JustGiving page is active year-round, so if you're able to, we'd love your support to help us raise even more!
This year the evening will start with the Pipe Band marking the beginning of our celebration at 10pm and just before the year ends at midnight, the Lone Piper will take to the battlements of the Dornoch Castle Hotel - a true phenomenal site.
Whilst at the Street Party, keep the cold Scottish air at bay with some great food, from Highland Larder and Treats on the Street with some sweeties at the Sweet Treats stall!
When the bells ring out at midnight, don’t forget to belt out the words to Auld Lang Syne!
All this is planned and implemented with the help of a dedicated team of volunteers and kind donations from people, both locally and further afield. We know that times are tough, that the pandemic and the cost of living crisis have been so incredibly difficult, and that not everyone can afford to donate, and that's fine. We just hope that you'll be able to join us for the Dornoch Hogmanay Street Party, donation or not.
This page will continue to run throughout the year so that we can collect donations all year round and continue the Dornoch Hogmanay Street Party for next year.
