Story

SERV Wessex Blood Bikes, The Blood Runners, is a Volunteer Transport Service delivering & collecting Blood, Platelets, Plasma, Samples, Vaccines, Medication, Breast Milk & other urgent medical items Out of Hours, Free of Charge to the NHS, across the Wessex region.

We were awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in June 2021. This is the MBE for volunteer groups.

We are a 100% volunteer service run solely on charitable donations. We operate 365 days per year, 24/7. We transport blood products and other urgent consignments for hospitals. We also replenish the supplies carried on the HIOWAA helicopter and their critical care cars. All FREE OF CHARGE.
