Story
A new home for Blackpool Scouts & Community Hub for you
Blackpool Scouts have been in the town for over 100 years but never really had a place to call home.
We currently provide Skills For Life to over 800 young people every week, supported by 300 volunteers.
It is now the time to create a place to call home to give our young people and adult volunteers a sense of belonging.
We also want this space to be a hub for the local community. This is a key focus for us as we want Scouts to be an integral part of the communities in which we are part of for generations to come.
We have been very fortunate to be able to purchase some land after being left a legacy from a member of our District that sadly passed away.
Paul Marshall was a dedicated member of our District and a passionate Scout. Along with this legacy in his will was a wish from Paul that it was used to build a District Headquarters. Our place to call home! We are determined to honour that wish!
Paul knew how important this is to us, and being able to purchase this land means that we are one step closer to making this dream come true.
The land that we have bought is where Marton Methodist one stood. We know from speaking to local residents that this was a real focal point for everyone and was well used by many people including ourselves.
We have some funds allocated towards the build costs but we are a way out from our total and need to be able to raise more to make this a reality.
We would really like to be able to bring this vital community hub back to the site and ensure that it benefits the Lives of everyone around it.
Your support will directly go to make this happen!
