Remembering a loved one
Losing a loved one can be one of the hardest things many of us will face.
Our supporters often share that they find comfort in making donations in memory, to celebrate the life of their loved one, and do something positive in such a difficult situation.
By setting up an in memory fundraising page for Dementia UK, you will be helping even more families to receive the life-changing specialist dementia support of an Admiral Nurse. When people are struggling, our nurses help them take back control. When family and friends are worried about a loved one, they give them confidence to manage their future with dementia.
You may wish to set up a page to ask for donations instead of flowers at a funeral. Or collect in memory of a loved one to mark a special day, like their birthday. Some people prefer to take part in an event to celebrate the life of their loved one.
However you choose to remember your loved one, your special gifts made in memory will mean youre helping us grow the number of specialist dementia nurses giving more people affected by dementia the life-changing care that they need.
"Having a close relative with dementia is a unique and difficult experience and one that I was certainly unprepared for. Support for those with dementia and their families is vital and this is why it felt it so important to honour dad by donating to Dementia UK in his memory." - Dementia UK Supporter.
We are here to support you and your family too. If you need someone to talk to about your loss, you can speak to one of our specialist dementia nurses on our free Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline on 0800 888 6678, Monday to Friday, 9am-9pm and 9am-5pm at weekends.
