In it together - No one should have to face dementia alone.
Dementia Matters in Powys provide invaluable support, advice and information to those affected by Dementia, their families and friends; empowering and enabling people to adjust to and influence change.
We are the first in Wales to adopt the successful Dutch model of Meeting Centres which provide socialisation, cognitive and physical activities, peer-support, advice, information and a meal prepared by dedicated teams of Volunteers. Meeting Centres offer a safe, non-judgemental environment and are currently supporting an average of 80 people each week across the County. We would like to extend the number of Meeting Centre days and have the capacity to offer 360 places each week, we don't have the funding to do that currently and are fighting to keep the current operational days open.
We help to raise awareness of Dementia
We engage on a national level influencing, changing & shaping current & future services
We work in partnership with the Association for Dementia Studies (University of Worcester) and the international Meeting Centre research programme.
We are developing new partnerships and collaborations and are currently working with Swansea University, Silver Assist Homecare and Primrose Care.
We need your help to
raise £140,000 to help us to operate for the 2025/26 financial year and save us from closure in June 2025 - can you please help to keep the vital Powys Meeting Centres operational?
