Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page 💜

We are raising funds for our daughter, Delilah, to support her journey with Cerebral Palsy. Every pound we raise will go toward her future therapies, treatments, and equipment that are not accessible through the NHS, with a small percentage allocated to the charity Tree of Hope, which helps families manage their fundraiser accounts.

Delilah endured a long and complicated labour, during which she experienced a loss of oxygen and blood to her brain. She was delivered via emergency c-section and immediately transferred to a specialist cooling unit called Therapeutic Hypothermia for the first 72 hours of her life. This treatment aimed to prevent further damage to her vital organs.

Despite facing significant challenges in her first two weeks in intensive care, Delilah has shown incredible resilience and progress. However, shortly after her first birthday, she was diagnosed with Dystonic Cerebral Palsy, a brain injury that affects movement development. This condition impacts her ability to perform everyday tasks such as playing, feeding, and moving. She works tirelessly to use her arms and legs, and her speech development is also affected.

The extent to which this disability will impact Delilah's life is unpredictable, but we are determined to do everything possible to give her the best chance to thrive.

We are exploring various therapies and options to help Delilah (whom we lovingly call Dilly) develop her potential. Our goal is to support her ongoing needs, including equipment to aid her mobility, tools to simplify her daily life, and resources to help her communicate. Funds will also contribute to holistic therapies and specialist school and therapy placements.

The therapies we are currently pursuing include:

PACE: A local charity and school providing specialized physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and equipment for children with neuro-disabilities.

Hippotherapy: A form of physiotherapy on horseback that has been shown to improve core strength, posture, gait, confidence, and emotional regulation.

Additionally, the funds raised will help cover transportation costs for therapy sessions and the day-to-day expenses of caring for a child with a disability. This campaign will remain open until Delilah turns 18, allowing us to continue raising funds to support her journey as she grows.

Please consider donating—no amount is too small, and every contribution means the world to us. Your generosity helps us provide Delilah with the resources she needs to thrive.

Thank you for being part of her journey. Words cannot fully express our gratitude 🙏🏼

With love,

Zoe and Dave xx
