In September 2025, Rugby League Cares is heading to the United States fort its annual fundraising bike ride - and what an experience it's going to be!
Over six memorable days, we'll cycle from the US capital, Washington DC, to Central Park in the heart of Manhattan.
Our 400-mile journey will see the riders pass some of the most historic and iconic sights in the world - the Lincoln Monument; the Whitehouse, the Liberty Bell; the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps made famous in the film, Rocky; the Statue of Liberty, Times Square in New York City and many of its amazing skyscrapers.
The trip will create memories that last a lifetime and forge new friendships across a group of riders which features former rugby league players, including two legends of the sport - Hall of Fame inductees Adrian Morley and Paul Sculthorpe MBE.
Rugby League Cares is all about people. Since our formation over 10 years ago, we have striven to care for the people who live, work and play in the villages, towns and cities wherever rugby league is played, from the athletes whose exploits on the pitch fire the imagination, to the adults and children whose lives are touched by the power of sport. We also offer wellbeing support and development opportunities to the sport's players, fans and the businesses within our communities.
Our events and fundraising activities raise money to support seriously injured players via the auspices of the Benevolent Fund, and to enable the important work taking place around brain health in the sport. Statistics show that rugby league is now safer to play than ever before, but accidents can still happen. And when they do, the Benevolent Fund is there to provide lifelong support to players - and their families - who have experienced life-changing events on the field.
Launched in 2023, our Brain Health Fund is a dedicated programme that educates, protects and informs players on issues concerning neurodegenerative conditions such as memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The money we raise helps fund research into brain health in rugby league, creating a better understanding of this important subject and equipping players with the information they need to make informed decisions about their own safety.
