Story

In late 2020 we were all saddened to hear that David Mercer, a legend of our sport and big supporter of the Trust had passed away. David was involved in so many aspects of Tennis - player, umpire, broadcaster, commentator, Chairman of the Lawn Tennis Writers Association and even member for the Sports Council of Wales.

David's daughter Caroline has decided to challenge herself to run the Cardiff Half Marathon in late March 2022 and will be running in memory of her father. She decided to raise funds from her run towards a charity that her father always held dear to his heart - the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust.

All funds raised will go to the Trust who then distribute the money to disabled tennis players and programmes.

We thank you for your support and wish Caroline the best of luck!

About the charity

The Trust raises funds for disabled people who play tennis - wheelchair, deaf, learning disabilities and the visually impaired. Sport can be life-changing for a person with a disability and tennis provides physical wellbeing and social opportunities as well as competition for those who want it.
