Story

Best friends, Danny and Daniel founded Once Upon a Smile in 2011, to provide emotional and practical support to bereaved families, after it became apparent that there was a lack of support for families after the death of a loved one, specifically a parent or child/sibling.

Since starting the charity, they now have developed the only child bereavement centre in the North West-Sidley House. A place where children can explore their grief safely in uniquely designed spaces-designed by bereaved children the charity support.

We're excited to raise as much as possible for our charity and truly appreciate any support people can give. We’re also looking forward to meeting fellow runners and supporters on the day-it’s going to be an incredible event!" -Danny Miller (Co-Founder)

The Great Manchester Run on Sunday 26 May, is not only a chance for them to personally contribute to the charity they co-founded together but also an opportunity for the public to join in and help raise funds for Once Upon a Smile. The event not only serves as a platform to generate financial support but also will be a wonderful opportunity for them to thank supporters of the charity as they run through Manchester on the day.

Below is an example of the support that Once Upon a Smile offers to bereaved children as young as 2.
