Dan Glick, man about town, air, and sea, made his final voyage on Monday, December 14, 2020. A lover of all things fun and adventurous, Dan lived a colorful and adventurous life. Founding Sunrise Balloons in 1975, Dan prided himself on launching an industry in Palm Springs, California, that has since become an icon of the desert's landscape. He also brought ballooning to the Southern California wine country in 1977, moving there full-time in 1994, and became a fixture in his community. Dan was known to all for his jovial nature, hearty laugh, helping hand to many, and all-around joie de vivre. Full of love for his family and friends, Dan balanced a carefree approach to life with his focus on safety, kindness, and humor. Whether he was cutting waves on his Jet Ski, painting the sky with his colorful balloon, cruising down the freeway in his convertible, or enjoying a sunny day on his boat in San Diego, Dan knew how to have and was himself never anything short of a good time. This bench is dedicated in his honor by his two sons, Sam and Adam, and will forever be a place for those who knew and loved Dan to enjoy a good time with a beautiful view--just as he would have wanted.
