Why This Playground Matters:
The Dancu playground is not just a recreational space; it is a vital part of our community. On the opening day, we had over 700 children in attendance, and many of them have come to rely on this playground as the only place to play and socialize. Most of these children do not have play equipment at home, so this playground has been a vital space for them to develop emotionally, socially, and physically.
Many of the children who visit the playground come from single-parent households or live with their grandparents. For these children, the playground is more than just a place to have fun—it’s a safe space where they can build meaningful relationships with their peers and caregivers. The environment fosters a sense of belonging, connection, and safety, which is crucial for families facing social isolation.
"The playground in Dancu has been a lifeline for my grandchildren. They don’t have any play equipment at home, so this is where they come to play, make friends, and enjoy themselves. It’s more than just a playground—it’s a place where they feel safe, happy, and connected to the community."
– Maria, Dancu Resident and Grandparent
"I remember the excitement on my child’s face the day the playground first opened. It was the best thing that happened in our village. The kids loved it, and it brought us all together as a community. We can’t let this place fall into disrepair—it means too much to us."
– Alex, Parent and Dancu Resident
Our Goal:
We aim to raise £8028 to fund essential upgrades and repairs to ensure that the playground is safe, functional, and enjoyable for the children who need it most. The upgrades will enhance the playground’s accessibility and provide a more vibrant space for our community’s children.
