Story
The David Adams Leukaemia Appeal Fund was founded 28 years ago in memory of the late David Adams, whose life was prolonged by The Royal Marsden, a world leading cancer centre, for two years after his initial diagnosis of Leukaemia. During those two years, he raised many thousands of pounds for the hospital and his efforts have since been continued by his family and friends.
The Royal Marsden gives hope to patients and their families every day. But the face of cancer research is changing and the number of people who need the hospitals help increases every year. Thats why The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is fundraising to build the Oak Cancer Centre. One of the projects DALAF is currently supporting is a new treatment room within the centre.
The Oak Cancer Centre in Sutton will increase the capacity giving more patients access to The Royal Marsdens expert treatment and care. It will also provide welcoming clinics and spacious waiting areas, which will make the patient experience as positive as it can be.
Its thanks to your generosity that The Royal Marsden will be able to bring over 400 world-class clinical researchers together under this one roof to develop life-saving treatments that benefit patients long into the future. The Oak Cancer Centre will speed up the translation of world-leading research into breakthroughs in treatment and care, transforming the lives of cancer patients at The Royal Marsden and beyond.
