Story

The Abbey Church of Dunfermline - a community where all are welcome.

In 2021, the Abbey Church of Dunfermline employed a Children's, Youth and Families Worker to help encourage younger people, parents and carers to feel that there was a place for them within the life of the church.

Matt Baines runs events and activities throughout the year supported by a team of volunteers. Perhaps you have been to one - or maybe even more.

The activities and events include Abbey Kids (A Creative Space for Families in the Hearts of the Community on Fridays at 4pm), Lego Church, PastPort (shared with Heritage partners), Messy Church, Muddy Church, Story Time and the Pumpkin Trail.

Details of what is happening can be found on www.dunfermlineabbey.com or and the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/dunfermlineabbey

A donation to this fund supports the work of the Children's, Youth and Families work.

The Abbey Church of Dunfermline congregation is responsible for the upkeep and care of the church, the hall, and all activities undertaken by the congregation and the staff. A limited income stream comes from grants, donations and tourism, and instead congregational giving is the main source of income.

About the charity

RCN SC016883
There has been a centre of Christian Worship on the site of Dunfermline Abbey for over a thousand years. The current congregation recognises its role and responsibility in maintaining the Abbey Church of Dunfermline as a place of worship, and also as a Church which plays a major role in the life of the town of Dunfermline. Those who chose to fundraise for us support the work that we do and the upkeep of our building. Some may choose to support individual projects that are part of the activities of our congregational life. Others may choose to support us in a more general way, allowing us to decide how best to allocate funds.
