Story

Children in Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe were in the direct path of Cyclone Idai as terrifying winds and torrential rains swept families from their homes and destroyed vital roads and hospitals.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been impacted by flooding and thousands are still missing. The scale of damage is massive and is expected to worsen as torrential rainfall continues.

In Mozambique, families and children are desperately fighting for survival, trapped in their homes and fleeing to rooftops. Others have been forced out of their flooded homes, and now lack basic supplies including food, water and sanitation.

These children are now seriously vulnerable and in desperate need of life-saving supplies including clean water, shelter and medicine.

Unicef is working with government and partners across the region to ensure children and families get the emergency supplies they need, and the vital support for the months ahead.

By donating today, you can help us respond for children and families with life-saving support. Fundraise for children affected by Cyclone Idai today.
