Story
On Saturday 30 November, our fundraising team at Leicester's Curve Theatre is running a Dance Challenge in the foyer, asking participants to show off their best moves by dancing for anything between 1 to 6 hours.
Suitable for all ages and abilities, this fun and energising event will raise valuable funds towards our mission to ensure all young people, regardless of their background or financial circumstances, can access, enjoy and shape the future of theatre.
By making a donation today, you will be supporting free bursary places for our Curve Young Community Company groups. These popular weekly workshops run across the school year and welcome young people aged 5 – 19 years with an interest and passion for performing arts.
In a recent survey conducted among participants of Curve’s youth programmes, 87% stated that these activities had a very positive impact on their wellbeing, 81% said that they helped them make friends, and 88% felt that they increased their knowledge and skills.
Throughout the year our Creative Programme for schools, colleges, universities and community groups engages over 15,000 young people of all ages and abilities.
Each week over 500 young people participate in workshops in our theatre and in local community groups, and over 40% of Curve’s CYCC places are offered free of charge. This is really important in a city where many families face high costs and fewer opportunities to participate in the arts.
Support us today and share the joy of theatre with the next generation of artists, creators and audiences!
