Story
The Curry Kitchen is a pioneering partnership project between Community Interest Luton, Venue Central, Discover Islam Information Centre and local businesses.
Each hot and nutritious meal costs just £1.50 per person and every penny of your donation goes towards providing the meal. So you know that everything you give will help feed someone in need.
We have provided over 26,000 hot meals since we started, which is truly amazing! But we need to make sure we can keep feeding those people most in need each week and have to raise around £10,000 to provide enough meals every year.
COVID has had a huge impact on this project. Firstly, the need and demand for hot food has gone up significantly and this will only get worse as the nights get longer, it gets colder and the weather gets worse. Secondly, owing to social distancing we have had to put additional measures in place to help keep everyone safe.
So we now provide hot meals to the most those who are most in need from all across the town via a weekly Curry Kitchen as well as delivering hot meals to local homeless shelters. The project is run thanks to volunteers from various local businesses and the local community who work together to support Luton's most vulnerable people.
A donation of £15 will help feed ten people and provide them with a safe and warm space to eat, talk to others and access the additional support they need. Anything you can donate to help the homeless and vulnerable people from across the town, would be directly helping to relieve hunger and loneliness in Luton.
