Story

Host a virtual coffee morning this October to support breast cancer patients across the country.

More than 3,300 people will hear the words You have breast cancer this year, thats 9 people every day. We are determined to be there for every one of them during this worrying time. But we need your help. Please host a virtual coffee morning between October 5th to 11th (or any date that suits you this October)

We might not be able to host our traditional coffee mornings in person this year but this wont stop us from supporting breast cancer patients. Gather your friends for a virtual catch up this October. You can host your coffee morning at any time that suits, morning, evening or night. Why not host your coffee morning with family and friends on Skype or Zoom? Its a great way to catch up with family at home or abroad and support the thousands of breast cancer patients across Ireland during these difficult times.

You can ensure no one has to face breast cancer on their own.

When I heard the words You have breast cancer,' I wanted to get away before I cried. I decided to ring the Irish Cancer Societys Support Line. It was different than talking to family, I didnt have to protect anybody, I could be vulnerable. I cried down the phone and they helped me begin to process the dramatic journey I was starting. Sarah Donovan, diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2019

Your virtual coffee morning will be providing crucial support services to breast cancer patients and their families. Services like our Support Line (Freephone 1800 200 700) which has seen calls increase as patients and their families try to deal with a diagnosis in the current environment.

Breast cancer patients are looking for certainty and reassurance in this distressing time and the Support Line is able to provide this for them. It is crucial that our nurses are there to answer these calls, but with our fundraising affected due to the pandemic we need your support more than ever.
