Story

Get ready to lace up your running shoes for an experience like no other! The AJ Bell Great North Run, the world's biggest and best half marathon, is calling for participants, and we want you to be part of this incredible event on Sunday, September 8th, 2024.

Why Embrace the Great North Run?

1. Atmosphere: Join 60,000 runners in the iconic 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields. Experience the warmth of the Geordie welcome, the rush of cheering spectators, and the unforgettable on-route entertainment.

2. Unbeatable Finish Line Feeling: Whether you're running to beat a personal best, raise funds for charity, or simply for the post-run pint, the Great North Run guarantees a run like no other. The finish line feeling will stay with you forever.

3. Impactful Fundraising: Your participation goes beyond personal achievement; it supports Carer Support South Lakes (CSSL), a South Lakeland-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of over 1800 unpaid Carers in the South Lakes, including more than 200 Young Carers as young as 5 years old.

How Your Support Makes a Difference:

CSSL plays a pivotal role in the community by offering support and enriching the lives of unpaid Carers. Your fundraising endeavours will directly contribute to improving the lives of Carers across the region.
