Story
The Crown Inn is situated in the beautiful village of Elton near Peterborough. The community in Elton has recognised the importance of public access defibrillators in helping to save lives and they are working to a carefully considered plan for the location of public access defibrillators in their village so that everyone will be within 100m or a 2-3 minute brisk walk of one.
The village has taken a forward thinking and proactive approach to protecting lives from cardiac arrest. To date, with the help of Heart Safe Communities UK Charity, over 15% of those living in Elton have had training in how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use a defibrillator. They have raised funds to add defibrillators to its growing network and the Parish Council has committed to supporting the replacement of defibrillator pads and batteries when needed.
The defibrillators that have been installed have been called upon a number of times already under the direction of the Ambulance Service. The speed of access has proven the value of their existence, but there is so way to go to give equal access to everyone.
The next defibrillator in the network will be located outside the Crown Inn public house which occupies an important place within the village.
We invite you to help the community to continue its work by making a donation. The money that you give will all go directly to supporting the installation. If the fundraising exceeds the target needed, then any surplus will go towards supporting additional installations in Elton.
Thank you for your support.
