Story

The Luton & Dunstable Hospital are well underway with redeveloping the site for improved patient care.

Our Critical Care Appeal needs you!

The Trust is currently constructing a brand new building – you may have seen it! On the first floor there will be a brand new balcony offering some much needed outdoor space for our critically unwell patients and for staff respite.

For our Critical Care patients being able to access an outside space not only aids healing but improves mental health, the ability to see the sky, smell the flowers and take in natural Vitamin D. This can be taken for granted until you do not have access to it. For some patients it may be the last time they experience the outdoors. This is why the balcony is so essential to the Critical Care Team and their patients.

We aim to make the space as healing as possible with bespoke planting and lighting all at the right angles for bedded patients to enjoy.

We need you! Support this appeal by raising funds for us or by making a donation, every penny really will make the difference.

We need to raise £50,000 for this section of the appeal before the end of 2024, as it needs to be complete before the unit opens. Please donate now.

The Critical Care Team have gone above and beyond in their fundraising and have been nominated for a BBC Three Counties Fundraising award, the event is held in September so we all hope they win!
