Story
Our charity at Royal Brompton Hospital is working directly with the front line teams, who are caring for some of the sickest Covid-19 patients in the country.
The pandemic has put huge pressure on the NHS and additional funds are needed urgently. Money raised through our appeal will be used to fund medical equipment for the wards, specialist resources for patients and essential support for our incredible staff, across Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.
Your donation will help us buy:
iPads and specialist waterproof covers, for Covid-19 patients to contact and see their loved ones. We are also providing access to a big screen for patients calling home.
Protective clothing for staff, to use in high-risk areas.
Vital hospital grade equipment and remote support for patients with major heart and lung conditions who must shield or isolate to protect themselves at home. We will fund oxygen saturation monitors, blood testing machines and professional baby weighing scales. These, along with the world class care from Trust staff, will be lifesaving.
Face creams and balms to care for our teams skin, after they have worn PPE for long, tiring shifts. As well as treats, high energy snacks and wellbeing/mindfulness books to help care for their mental health through horrific and traumatic period.
'Brompton Buddy' boxes for young patients and their siblings/parents in isolation, containing arts, crafts, activities, colouring, toys, games and books to entertain and help them to feel less alone. We aim to send boxes to over 500 vulnerable families who need our support.
Accommodation for parents in a nearby hotel, while the accommodation on site is repurposed for isolating staff.
Hot drinks and takeaway meals for patients and their families.
Private transport for patients who do not have access to their own vehicle.
Equipment that will allow children to continue studying while their schools are closed.
Every penny raised will help to make a difference within our hospitals and for our patients during these difficult times.
Thank you for your kind support.
