Since its launch in 1995, the Cultural Resources Facility (CRF) Career Pathway in Archaeology paid internship pilot program has been a resounding success. What began with just three students has expanded to support 20 students per semester, and demand now exceeds capacity. Internships are booked a semester in advance.
The program has established cooperative agreements with agencies and private cultural resource management firms to address the growing need for skilled archaeologists. These agreements ensure graduates receive top-tier training. With the industry facing a shortage of qualified professionals, these partnerships guarantee job placements for all successful participants upon graduation.
To sustain and expand this critical program, ongoing funding is essential to support more students and secure its long-term future.
