Lisa is a keen supporter of the Warriors and Community Foundation having been involved with the selection of both Jonny & Biggsy during her time at Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Why is she doing it?
Lisa has been diagnosed with a number of life changing illnesses:
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome
Fowlers syndrome
+ a number of other conditions
As result she has undergone a number of surgical procedures and treatments and was advised that she would probably never walk unaided again. Lisa saw NO reason why this should be that case and set about proving her consultants wrong she has now been walking unaided for 4 months albeit her legs/body have an occasion for a bit of a wobble. She has shown tremendous determination and resolve to get back on her feet again and walking Snowdon will be the pinnacle for her; a challenge that will focus on What she can do and not what she cant!. She is keen to use her challenge to promote the work that the Community Foundation does in providing a safe, inclusive community for people who are going through their own life challenges. A community that allows people to re-engage with society and improve their self-esteem and well-being.
She wont be walking alone and will be joined by Isaac Miller, she convinced him to join the challenge when they met at the Community Foundation earlier in the year, and four other Warriors supporters two of whom have mountain leader experience. She had hoped to be able to invite more people but the current COVID restrictions will not allow it, so she is hoping that you will support her and the foundation by making a contribution to this Just Giving appeal. Any thing you can give will make a difference and will be greatly appreciated.
