Story
It's easy to feel helpless during this coronavirus crisis, but we are determined to ensure no one is beyond the reach of the support they need to survive and thrive.
Donating the money you may be saving at the moment on daily coffees, travel costs and meals out can help us to support and protect the lives of people who are preparing to face this emergency without the safety net our amazing NHS provides to us.
We can build on the knowledge and experience gained from our work fighting Ebola to ensure our local experts are as ready for the coronavirus as they can be. Our ongoing work to provide clean water, hand washing facilites and training to communities in need will be critical. Whatever you can afford to donate, your gift will make a significant difference to our crisis response as we stand alongside our brothers and sisters.
Here are some ideas of the good your money could do:
£11.33 can buy text books, exercise books and pencils for a child to continue their education despite school closures
£51.63 can provide a farmer with basic tools and seeds so they can feed their family and sell produce to earn a living throughout the coronavirus outbreak
£80.45 can buy an infrared thermometer so a fever can be detected from a safe distance
£126.75 can buy full personal protective equipment for a nurse or doctor at a health clinic
£135.65 can install one community hand-washing point and train 25 villagers in safe hand-washing
£2,478.24 can dig a well to ensure a community has a supply of safe water for drinking and hand-washing
