Protect Doctors and Nurses in India
Covid 19 (Coronavirus) is a new illness, which affects a persons lungs and airways. There is no medicine or vaccine available yet to cure the disease. Coronavirus appears to have originated from Wuhan in China, but it has now spread globally. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared it as a Pandemic, which has infected over 3,000,000 and killed over 200,000 people around the world by the end of April 2020.
These are difficult, unprecedented and unpredictable times. Covid 19 is spreading in India, like it has spread all over the world. This horrible disease cannot be fully controlled until a vaccine is found to treat it. Although a huge number of researchers in various countries are working day and night to develop a vaccine, it may be 6 to 12 months before one is available for the general public.
The Loomba Foundation is aiming to raise £50,000. These funds will be used to supply 5,000 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for frontline doctors and nurses in India, who are risking their own lives to save others.
It costs £10 to purchase a PPE Kit, consisting of 6 items:
1 x Coverall Suit with Hood
1 x Eye Gear
1 x Pair of Surgical Gloves
1 x Pair of shoe covers
1 x Surgical 3 Ply Face Mask
1 x Disposable Bag
