Story
Age UK Northamptonshire is working with other local organisations to provide prompt and effective support to vulnerable people in the county.
We are a local and independent charity and the donation you make today can have far reaching effects. You can enable us to provide support to older people in Northamptonshire during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the coronavirus struck we have made over 16,000 interventions with clients, including nearly 9,000 welfare calls and 1,000 befriending calls. We have carried out 2,000 shopping trips and over 200 medication trips, all in addition to our normal work.
Your funds will go towards the following:
- Delivering emergency food packages
- Carrying out welfare checks and finding out what support is needed
- Doing essential shopping, collecting medication and other essential items
- Providing information and advice which includes help with benefit claims
- Telephone befriending
Cheques and CAF vouchers need to be made payable to Age UK Northamptonshire. For more information please visit our website - https://www.ageuk.org.uk/northamptonshire/
We welcome donations of groceries and essential items such as tinned food, soup, pasta, rice, cleaning products and toilet roll as we are still supporting vulnerable older people with no local support. We also welcome donations of jigsaw puzzles, card games, crosswords, sudoku and books for people who are feeling lonely and isolated.
Please drop off your donations at The Venton Centre, York Road, Northampton, NN1 5QG. Or send an email to arrange a safe drop off to fundraising@ageuknorthants.org.uk or call us on 01604 604500.
Our staff and volunteers are working hard during these challenging times to provide extra support to older people who are shielding and whose lives have been turned upside down by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Your support at this critical time is greatly appreciated. Every penny donated will help us provide support and help keep older people in Northamptonshire safe. Thank you.
