Story
Age UK Ealing needs your help to support older people in our borough during the coronavirus outbreak and beyond. At this time of national crisis we are seeing unprecedented demand for our services at the same time that sadly we have been forced to closed our doors to keep everyone safe.
As a small independent charity, we are working hard to ensure that we can continue to provide our vital information, advice and befriending services by telephone, as well as helping as many older people as possible get access to the food and essentials they need. Your continued donations at this difficult time are helping us to keep reaching our most vulnerable older neighbours to keep them safe in their homes.
This is a time of great anxiety for all of us, but particularly for older people facing an extended period of isolation and when it is proving almost impossible to secure a supermarket delivery slot. With social distancing measures in full force, and the over 70s being told not to leave their homes, we are doubling our capacity to support isolated older people across Ealing, ensuring they have someone to talk to and the right advice for their situation, and linking them up with partners who can deliver food and essential supplies and other support services.
With no end in sight for these tough self-isolation measures, Age UK Ealing is a lifeline to our local residents. Sadly with the closure of our day centre and community centre we are now losing at least £17,000 per month of income which supports our charitable work. Any help that you can give us to carry on this vital work will be grateful appreciated.
Every penny donated will help us in our mission to provide the care and support needed to keep our older people safe and well, during the coronavirus outbreak and beyond. Thank you.
