Story
Age Concern Eastbourne is asking for financial support to maintain our vital services for older people living in our town. In the current crisis we have had to suspend many of the activities and services that we normally run, to concentrate on more urgent and important tasks that our clients need help with.
Our primary concern is, and will always be, the health and safety of older people.
The Venton Centre remains open between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Monday to Friday as a place where lonely and anxious people can meet for mutual support. I'm afraid that we have had to suspend all group activities - a more up to date picture of what we are providing can be found on our website.
The processes and procedures we use in our homecare service are applied across all of the charity with staff, volunteers and visitors being instructed to wash hands frequently and use anti bac gel.
Whilst older people are at increased risk of loneliness and isolation our biggest challenge is supporting the most vulnerable to stay safe and healthy at home.
AGE Concern Eastbourne has been quietly caring for the people of Eastbourne for over 70 years, a record of local service of which we are justifiably proud.
