Story
As the world changes around us and our community face new challenges, Coram's Fields continues to offer a dedicated space for local children, young people, and families. Throughout the turbulent past year and the devastating financial impact of the pandemic, we are proud to have continued to meet the developing needs of our community.
With COVID-19 restrictions in place, our park and playgrounds became increasingly relied upon as the garden so many live without at home. However, our purpose extends beyond the 7-acres of open green space for children to run, learn and play. Our services are vital in promoting the education and welfare of children growing up in central London. Despite the impact of the pandemic, these are going from strength to strength. Throughout 2021, we are delighted to have supported, on average, 200 children and young people per week through our services, including our free Youth and Sports Programmes, assisting those who often face multiple, complex barriers to achieving their potential.
We are hugely grateful to our community and generous funders who stepped in to ensure we could be resilient as we faced a sudden and critical drop in income due to the impact of COVID-19. Ongoing support continues to be vital in ensuring Coram's Fields remains financially resilient and a haven for children and young people during these difficult times. Rebuilding brings its own tests. Alongside the critical improvements needed across our site, demands on our services have been exacerbated by the long-term impacts of the pandemic.
To help us meet these challenges, this Christmas we are launching our Festive Fund
Our community is at the heart of all we do. We are asking our community to stand with us to ensure that children continue to have their own haven for play and that families and young people can access transformational support through our services.
By donating to our Festive Fund, you are donating to every child who takes on the world in our adventure playground. You are donating to every young person who is connected to their first job through our Employability Project and realises their potential. You are donating to every child who joins their first football team and scores their first goal with Coram's Fields football club. You are donating to their futures.
£3 can cover the costs of a session for new parents attending our Under 5s Drop-In whilst their little ones get messy (or creative!) in our art sessions.
£9 can buy food and snacks for young people attending an evening session in our Youth Centre, reducing financial pressures for families who may sometimes struggle to put food on the table.
£18 can buy plants and seeds for our community growing garden where children learn about gardening, nature and creepy crawlies.
£60 can take a young person on an unforgettable trip, from BMX-ing, Go-Ape adventures, and rock-climbing, to art gallery trips, live music and poetry performances, our trips help to inspire and broaden horizons.

We are here for young people
Our Youth and Sports Programmes work closely with young people living across Camden, Islington and neighbouring boroughs. Project 10/10 was set up by Coram's Fields, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and Camden Council to prioritise support for marginalised young people in the Camden and Islington border area, many of whom become at risk of either offending or engaging in anti-social behaviour because of their exclusion. Check out our young people's video where they creatively address the issues that matter to them.
