Coram Beanstalk is a national childrens reading charity, which makes a local impact. They deliver one-to-one reading support to disadvantaged children aged three to 13 years old who desperately need extra help. They recruit, train and support volunteers to work in schools and tackle the issue of children being left behind in their reading.

In 2018, 156,000 children left primary school unable to read well thats one in four left behind. If this continues, 1.5 million children will be left behind by 2025. Coram Beanstalk aims to tackle this huge issue, which has a devastating impact on childrens lives.

At The Very Group, weve set ourselves an ambitious target for Coram Beanstalk, to support childrens learning and development. Through our partnership, Coram Beanstalk hope to support 40,000 children through increasing their national presence and local impact especially in Liverpool, Manchester, the East Midlands and London. The partnership will also enable Coram Beanstalk to develop digital technology and training materials to support reading helpers, to connect them with other helpers, enable them to recruit more volunteers and ultimately help more children.
