Story
At the begginging of January, we received a call from a concerned lady who informed us that 4 horses and 1 pony were due to be shot as they had been left behind in a field by previous tenants in a move. As they were all fit and healthy (the caring locals had been bringing them food and water) the RSPA would not get involved. We immediately arranged for transport to pick up the gentle giants and bring them back for urgent care and shelter at the Sanctuary.
The horses are now safe with us in quarantine and we have spent the past week getting to know them. They have been checked over by our amazing vet and had their vaccinations, documentation and microchips updated, and the farrier has treated their feet with one horse needing special treatment for an abscess.
So far, the rescue and vet bills has cost us around £700 and we predict, before rehoming, for the rescue mission to cost about £1000.
Anything you can offer to help us towards paying for the treatment and shelter of these gorgeous gentle giants would be much appreciated.
