Story
After 15 years of Christmas Spectacular! at Snape Maltings and 25 years of pantos at the Ipswich Regent...we are missing you, our loyal audiences.
But even more importantly, our young people have been missing out on the opportunity to perform, train and develop their creative skills.
The Co-op Juniors have been inspiring and training students in dance, music and drama for over 75 years and have always been innovative and resilient. (Take a look at this video to learn more about the magic of the Co-op Juniors) But we now face an uncertain future with no income from shows, hiring costumes or stage props and scenery. So, we are asking for your support.
With all productions postponed until 2021, we have developed our new Creative Warehouse Project. In the Ipswich warehouse provided by East of England Co-op, major changes have been made by the Juniors to provide a safe studio environment in which students can explore, innovate, train and develop with creative professionals while they are unable to perform in front of audiences. This includes our many Theatre Academy dance classes and ballet grade classes.
We aim to provide young people with alternative creative opportunities during these challenging times, when arts activities at schools are under threat. By supporting the Co-op Juniors you are allowing young people in Suffolk to continue to develop their performance skills and technique, giving them a creative outlet during these challenging times.
Stephen Skrypec from our management team explains;
As a charitable co-operative run by volunteers, we are determined that students can continue to develop their performance skills. The disruption to their school work has been dramatic, and many extra-curricular activities have stopped completely. We have been entertaining Suffolk for almost eight decades, so we hope that people will agree the Co-op Juniors are worth supporting. The whole team is energised by what lies ahead.
