The Community Shelter of Union County provides food, shelter and rehousing, a practice that works efficiently to lift lives of our neighbors in crisis. We seek your help as we face our toughest year ahead battling the economic effects of COVID-19.
The Community Shelter of Union County is the county's only full-time homeless shelter, and its kitchen is open to the hungry three meals per day, every day of the year. The COVID-19 pandemic has meant we've had to innovate to meet the ever-growing demand to provide food, emergency shelter and rehousing to our neighbors in crisis.
On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, we hope you and your friends can spare a donation to help us in this battle. Just this summer in our new drive-thru pantry service, we provided more than 400,000 pounds of food to Union County households. We'd appreciate you hitting the button to create a fundraiser and sharing that resulting web page to your social media account to grow the effort.
The Shelter is a private organization, funded by a mix of grants and donations from governments, schools, businesses, houses of worship, families and individuals. We can't do this without you, and thanks for helping us meet what may be our most challenging year.
