Story
UPDATE: We've updated this JustGiving campaign since you may have seen it in December, as we identified a great room in our building that we're hoping to refit - rather than relying on outdoor storage. We've also updated our fundraising target accordingly.
During the Covid crisis, we've received increasing requests for children's clothes from low-income families, as incomes are squeezed and charity shops closed.
We believe that no child should go without adequate clothing, and we look to help wherever possible.
We're in the right place to help - many families come to us to donate clothes, and through our daycare, Family Support work and networks with local food banks we can get clothes to the families that really need them.
We don't currently have anywhere to house and sort donations. This why we need your help. £300 will allow us to refit a former baby changing room into a great space for a Clothes Bank. We want to put in shelves for each clothing size and storage units for shoes. So when families come to us needing help, we'll be able to get them exactly what they need.
Just so you know:
- If we don't hit our fundraising target, the project will still go ahead and we will put any money raised towards as much storage as we can afford.
- If we raise more than our target, we will use any extra funds to pay for staff time spent on running the Clothes Bank: advertising for donations, sorting and cleaning them, and preparing bundles for families.
