Overnight Camp at Camp Loma Mar is critical to a child and teens growth and development. With the
height of the COVID-19 pandemic past us, many children now in school are slowly developing their social
skills and interaction with kids again, not having been able to do so for quite a long time. Camps are a
great way to continue their learning through the summer, all while building memories and new friends.
Last summer, we welcomed over 869 campers to Camp Loma Mar for the ultimate summer overnight
experience. With your help, we awarded more than $67,500 in camperships to over 91 campers,
providing the ability for families from low-income communities to send their kids to camp.
Four organization partners made their way through camp 99.7 Now! Radio Station, Camp Corral,
Diabetes Youth and Families, and YES Nature to Neighborhoods.
Campership is needed for many families to send their kids to camp, like the Vaden Family
(a family of 9). If it were not for the campership program, the Vaden Family would not
have been able to send 5 of their children to Camp Loma Mar for summer camp. The kids
had the best time and look forward to this summer. Youve made this possible!
As Im sure you have once experienced overnight camp at Camp Loma Mar or any campsite, we offer
youth the opportunity to bond and socialize, develop leadership skills, and enjoy the outdoors through
ziplining, rock climbing, and hiking. Family camp allows families to enjoy the outdoors, experience
activities, and meet other families.
This year, we have over 1,250 campers registered, the highest since pre-pandemic. With increased campers,
the need for camperships (camp scholarships) for youth and families in need is much greater.
Can we count on YOU to SEND KIDS TO CAMP? With your gift, You.Make.Camp.Achievable (YMCA)
for every kid!
Thank you in advance for your support!
