Story

Our mission is to support and empower people affected by Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) and Small Lymphocytic Leukaemia (SLL).

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of CLL Support - a patient-led UK charity. It was started back in 2004 by a group of people with CLL and their partners. Today the Charity continues to be run by volunteers, all of whom have been personally affected by CLL or SLL

Our celebrations will focus on 'Challenge 20' and other activities taking place throughout the year.

Challenge 20

Challenge 20 is a range of physical and mental well-being activities that we hope as many people as possible will take part in. There are photographs and ideas in our gallery that we hope will inspire others to take up their own challenge. The list of what people could do is endless - it doesn't have to be physical or mental, it could be related to hobbies. Anyone taking part can claim a Certificate as a memento or proof of their achievement.

Fundraising Ideas

We look forward to hearing about what other ideas people have for fundraising. Please keep us updated so that we can publish stories in our quarterly newsletter. We will also be keeping our social media pages updated throughout the year. Some examples of what others are doing include the following:

A record-breaking attempt by one of our members, David Warner, who will be walking from John O'Groats to Land's End in under 100 days.

Our Vice-Chairman, John Greensmyth, will be taking to his recumbant bike and cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in 20 days.

Debbie Yates and her Welsh Springer Spaniel will be competing in 20 Kennel Club Agility competitions between March and September.

On 23rd June some of us will be walking 20,000 steps around Grafham Water with a celebratory picnic afterwards.

Whatever you decide to do, we’d love to receive photographs and a few words that we can publish in our Newsletter or maybe even in a special bulletin.

Thank you:

Your support is greatly appreciated by all of us at CLL Support. With your help, we can continue to support those with CLL/SLL and their families/friends/carers/supporters throughout 2024 and beyond.

The 20th Anniversary Campaign will be running until the end of September. We will be publishing regular updates via our Newsletter, member's bulletins and our Social Media pages.

With very best wishes
