Story
Set yourself the ultimate walking challenge and walk the equivalent distance of a trek to the iconic Everest Base Camp trek (130km), or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro (90km) to support the worlds most vulnerable women and girls fight against the devastating impacts of climate change.
How your support can help
Climate change is not something that might happen, it is happening. Right now. And women and girls are the most likely to suffer as a result. Cambodia remains one of the countries most at risk from climate change, seeing floodwaters rise and villages pushed deeper into poverty. By taking on our Climate Change Challenge, you can help ActionAid ensure that women and girls are included in its climate response.
£98 can buy a solar-powered pumping machine for a household, providing them with a dependable water source for farming.
£150 could pay for seeds, tools and 'green skills' training, enabling farmers to grow sustainable, drought-resistant crops.
£230 could plant 1000 mangrove trees in a coastal area, protecting communities from future floors and soil erosion as well as supporting fishing livelihoods.
