We have supported the National Literacy Trust for a number of years in its efforts to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the literacy and communication skills they need to succeed in life.
This year, we are raising funds for the National Literacy Trusts response to the COVID-19 crisis. The National Literacy Trust is providing 200,000 new books to vulnerable children and families via community groups and food banks, and has launched a new online Family Zone to help families across the UK at this difficult time. Please join us in supporting their vital efforts.
Every penny raised will help to support disadvantaged children throughout the current crisis, as well as when they return to school after the significant disruption to their education.
£7 could pay for a child to choose a book to keep, start to enjoy reading and gain in confidence and skills
£100 can gift books to 30 disadvantaged children as part of a food bank delivery
£250 can help train our national network of Literacy Champions to support local disadvantaged families online and via telephone
£1000 can help set up a programme to ensure children receive the literacy and wellbeing support they need when schools reopen
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
