At CSUCI, students are encouraged to strive for their goals during their time here and after they cross the commencement stage. Our goal is to provide as many Dolphins as possible with the resources they need to thrive. The graduating class of 2024 has chosen to give back by raising money for the Dolphin Pantry and Basic Needs Program, which provides immediate food, toiletries and basic necessities at no cost to our students, faculty, staff, and community.

The Dolphin Pantry and Basic Needs Program is essential for our students, as 1,048 unique students visited the Dolphin Pantry 5,861 times and 43 students received emergency grants from Basic Needs totaling $29,466 in the academic year of 2023-2024.

At the Dolphin Pantry, approximately $1,500 is spent per month purchasing fresh produce for the monthly farmers markets, supplementing items in the pantry, and replenishing hygiene products for our students.

The Basic Needs Program also seeks to provide support to students experiencing housing insecurity. So far this year, emergency housing has been provided to 12 students, for a total of 201 nights and an average of 16.75 nights per student. Each night generally costs $75, approximating to the cost of that service being $15,075 for this year.

You will be transforming the lives of our Dolphins, allowing them to enjoy their college experience and alleviating the burden of searching for necessary resources.

As majority of Dolphin Pantry and Basic Needs Program users are seniors, the class of 2024 is dedicated to supporting their peers, along with supporting other fellow Dolphins.
